College Applications

While many families are blinded by the escalating cost of just a single year of college, every family’s first priority in today’s highly competitive admissions process – is getting in. The competition is so fierce that outstanding grades and SAT scores, an absolute necessity, are no longer enough to guarantee success. As more qualified students are applying to college today than at any other time in history, college has become a “seller’s” market as evidenced by the bursting seams of billion dollar college endowment funds. Believe me when I tell you that all the money your family will need to afford the college of your choice is available, but none of it will help you get by the admissions committees. Thus, what every family should be focusing on is getting that all-important acceptance letter, as all the financial aid in the world is useless without it.

Students must begin preparing for college starting with the 9th grade, well in advance of their senior year in high school. In Part I of How To Pay For College Without Going Broke, you’ll learn:

(1) How to start improving your grades by negotiating – with your teachers!
(2) Everything you need to know about getting outrageous letters of recommendation to enhance your applications!
(3) How taking only two years, rather than three, of your elected language can actually improve your chances of getting an acceptance letter!
(4) How to prepare and submit applications with all the necessary paperwork so that admissions committees will stand up and take notice!
(5) How to be smarter than trick questions such as, “What other schools are you applying to?”
(6) Why using a school specific application over the Common Application can greatly  improve your chances of being accepted!
(7) Everything international students must know to get an edge in the Admissions Process!

All of this and so much more of the vital information every family needs to successfully send their student to the college of their choice can be found in Part I of Reecy’s book…

“Thank you so much for all of your hard work while helping me get accepted to the college of my dreams. You made the entire process so much less stressful because I knew I had someone to answer all of my questions and make me feel more comfortable. Your services have helped me so much on my way to attending the University of Pennsylvania. I greatly appreciate every time you answered my emails and phone calls to give me exactly the answer I was looking for. Working with you has just been so easy and convenient especially for such a complicated process. I am so glad I have you; so remarkable in your unique field. Your guidance has been truly indispensable to me during my journey into college.” – Caroline Kieserman-Shmokler, Coral Springs, FL

The Student Essay: Every applicant needs an edge in admissions. I advise all of my students to write a special essay, entitled, Why I Must Attend The University of… whether it is required or not. A well written Why I Must Attend essay effectively enhances any student’s GPA! But don’t stop there. You’ve already written about what the school has to offer you, now dazzle them with an essay on what you can offer the school. This unique approach to college essays will cause any student to stand out far above the competition. Be creative, avoid clichés and run-of-the-mill phraseology, and always remember that the telling of a story is at least as important as the story itself.
